This page explains what this website, www.tradies365.au, collects when you visit it or use our quote form, and the cookies and analytics tools it uses.

In short

Who we are

This website is operated by Tradies365, which is run by the brokers at Connect Business Insurance, with offices in Perth, Wodonga and the Sunshine Coast. Our Perth office is at 18B/151 Herdsman Parade, Wembley WA 6014.

Tradies365 operates under the authorisation of Connect Business Pty Ltd (ABN 59 612 031 964), Corporate Authorised Representative No. 1241963, an Authorised Representative of Community Broker Network Pty Ltd (ACN 096 916 184, AFSL 233750).

Our quote form

What it asks for

Our quote form asks for:

  • your trade and the state you work in;
  • the cover you want: your public and products liability limit ($5 million, $10 million or $20 million), how much tools of trade cover you want, the number of workers including you, how much of your work is done by subcontractors, and your estimated turnover;
  • your ABN, if you choose to give it;
  • your first and last name, email address, phone number, suburb and postcode, and your street address if you choose to give it;
  • any comments you add, and how you heard about us.

When you send the form, it also records the date, the page you were on when you opened the quote form, the first page you visited on this website, the website that sent you to us, and any campaign codes in the web address you arrived on. We use these to understand which pages lead to quote requests.

Many of the tradies we work with are sole traders, so details about your business, such as your ABN or turnover, can be personal information. We treat them that way. The form doesn't ask for sensitive information, such as health information, so please don't include it in your comments.

What happens to your answers

Nothing you type into the quote form is sent to us until you press the button to send it. If you leave the form part way through, we don't receive what you typed, and we won't contact you because of it.

Our brokers receive quote requests through Jotform, an online form service provided by Jotform Inc., which is based in the United States. Our Jotform account stores quote requests in the United States. Our quote form is Jotform's own form, shown inside a frame on our quote page. When you send it, your answers go straight to our Jotform account. Jotform may use its own cookies in the form, as its cookie policy explains. See Jotform's privacy policy.

We use your answers to get you quotes from insurers and to arrange the cover you ask for. To do that, we share them with insurers and underwriting agencies, with Community Broker Network, our licensee, and with the service providers who help us, such as Jotform and our email provider (Microsoft). If you don't give us the details the form marks as required, we may not be able to get you a quote.

We contact you about the cover you asked for, by phone or email, using the details you gave us. We won't call you to offer other types of insurance unless you ask us to, and we won't add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote.

Our reporting record

We keep a reporting record of each quote request, so we can see which pages lead to quotes and policies. It holds the date, your trade and state, the cover you asked for, how you heard about us, the page you came from and what happened to the request, including the yearly premium if we arrange a policy. It doesn't hold your name, contact details, ABN or address. It is kept in Claude, a tool provided by Anthropic, which is based in the United States.

Cookies in brief

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Apart from the Google Analytics cookies described below, this website doesn't set cookies. Google Analytics runs on the live website only. Ahrefs Web Analytics doesn't use cookies. Google Maps, if you choose to load the map on our contact page, and Jotform, in the quote form on our quote page, may set their own cookies.

We don't use advertising cookies, advertising pixels, remarketing or session recording. You can turn off Google Analytics using the options below, and the website works the same without it.

Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., which is based in the United States. Vercel collects information about requests to the website, such as your IP address, your approximate location worked out from it, your browser and device settings, the page requested and the date and time. Vercel keeps these logs for a limited time. They help keep the website running and secure.

Our fonts are stored on this website, so loading a page doesn't send your details to a font provider.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, on the live website only. It works by adding code from Google to our pages, which collects information about how you use the website.

What it collects. Google Analytics collects information about your visit, such as the pages you view, how far you scroll, the site you came from, your approximate location, your device and browser, links you click to other websites, and files you download. Your browser sends your IP address to Google when the code loads. Google says Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses.

Quote form and contact events. We record when someone starts the quote form, moves to the next step and sends it, with the trade, state and liability limit chosen and the page the form was sent from. We also record when someone taps our phone number or email address, and where on the page it was. These records never include your name, contact details, ABN, address or comments.

Cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (cookies stored under this website's address) called _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID. They tell one visitor apart from another and remember your current session. By default they last up to 2 years. Google says some browsers delete them sooner if you don't visit the website again.

How we have set it up.

  • Google signals (a feature that adds information Google holds about people signed in to their Google accounts) and ad personalisation are turned off, so we don't use Google Analytics for advertising.
  • We don't send your name, email address or other details that identify you to Google, and we don't put personal information in web addresses.
  • Detailed analytics data is kept for 14 months. This setting doesn't affect summary reports.

Google explains how it uses this information on its page about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

How to opt out.

  • Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which stops Google Analytics measuring your visits to any website.
  • Use your browser's settings to block or delete cookies.
  • Use a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.

Ahrefs Web Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, provided by Ahrefs Pte Ltd of Singapore, on the live website only. It works by adding code from Ahrefs to our pages, which collects information about how you use the website. Ahrefs says it doesn't use cookies, collect personal data or store personally identifiable information by default.

It records the pages you view and their titles, the site you came from, the links you click (including our phone and email links), your browser, device and operating system, your screen size and your browser's language settings. It may also record that a form on a page was sent, but not what you typed into it. It uses your IP address to work out your approximate location, no more precisely than your city. Ahrefs says it then discards the full IP address and never stores it. To count visits, Ahrefs uses a code that is reset every day, which Ahrefs says stops it tracking a visitor beyond a single day.

There are no Ahrefs cookies to delete. A browser extension that blocks analytics scripts will stop it loading.

The map on our contact page

Our contact page shows a map of our Perth office only if you choose to load it. When you do, Google Maps loads from Google, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. Google's privacy policy explains how Google handles this information.

Search tools

We use Google Search Console and Ahrefs Webmaster Tools. They don't run on your device and don't put cookies or scripts on this website. They give us summary information about how this website appears in search results and the links and searches that lead to it.

What this website doesn't use

This website doesn't use session recording tools, advertising pixels (such as Meta's), remarketing, chat widgets or embedded social media feeds. We will update this page before we start using any new analytics, advertising or tracking tool.

Where this information is stored

Some of the organisations that help run this website are located overseas, or store information overseas:

  • Google, for Google Analytics and Google Maps: Google LLC is based in the United States. Google lists the countries where it has data centres on its data centre locations page;
  • Ahrefs, for Ahrefs Web Analytics: Ahrefs Pte Ltd is based in Singapore, and its privacy policy says the personal data it collects is stored in the United States;
  • Vercel, our hosting provider: the United States and other countries in Vercel's network;
  • Jotform, our form provider: the United States;
  • Anthropic, for our reporting record: the United States.

Automated decisions

This website doesn't use computer programs to make decisions about you. The quote form checks that the required details are filled in and screens out obvious spam before a request reaches us. Our brokers read every quote request and decide how to help. Insurers decide whether to offer cover, the premium and the terms.
